Counting in Two Languages Through a Traditional Song

Built around the Mexican counting song “Un elefante se balanceaba,” this board book introduces counting from one to five in English and Spanish. Both languages appear on the same spread, keeping the bilingual presentation visible as the song supports early number learning. Lift-the-flap elements add an interactive feature, while a page for writing a child’s name gives the book a simple personal touch. Its compact board-book format and focus on song, numbers, and counting place it among first-concept books for very young children.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Families introducing English and Spanish vocabulary together
  • Young children beginning to explore numbers and counting
  • Caregivers looking for an interactive board book based on a traditional song
