A REMARKABLE JOURNEY

So many of Jamie's life decisions and failures were the product of that one day. An hour of horror and misfortune at nineteen had essentially molded her history into chaos. In her eyes, it somehow lessened her value and blurred her personal boundaries. Changing what she would accept, what she wanted for herself, and what she felt she deserved.

In 2018, in an attempt to escape the American justice system, she packed a suitcase, said goodbye to her grown children, and with $50 in her pocket, boarded a one-way flight and fled the United States. The only thing she knew for sure was that an unknown future was better than the one she was facing.

She had no idea how difficult the journey she was about to embark on would be. Trauma had always been the background theme of her life. She'd been in survival mode for as long as she could remember. Wearing the pain much like one wears their skin. It became who she was.
