A muddy outing in two languages

Big Dog and Little Dog’s walk turns into a shared adventure with mud, rain puddles, and—afterward—a bath. The side-by-side English and Spanish text, repeated phrases, and easy vocabulary make the story a first step for children sounding out words in either language. Enrichment activities add something to explore beyond the story, while the friendship between the two dogs ties the outdoor mishaps together.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Beginning readers practicing simple words and repeated phrases.
  • Children and caregivers who want English and Spanish text side by side.
  • Young readers who enjoy stories about friendship and outdoor play.
