A disappearance against the storm

Volume 9 brings together two strands of *Asadora!*: Asa’s 1959 disappearance amid a typhoon and the threat of a destructive creature in Tokyo in 2020. After taking Yone’s film, Asa encounters River Etheridge, the songwriter behind a tune she has known since childhood. Elsewhere, Kasuga searches for her in Shibuya while Jissoji’s operatives react to her absence. The volume’s premise links personal mysteries—a kidnapping, a stolen film and a familiar song—to a looming public danger, with the storm framing Asa’s struggle to survive alongside her kidnapper.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Readers following *Asadora!* and Asa’s story across its different time periods.
  • Manga readers interested in stories combining a young protagonist, mystery, disaster and a large-scale creature threat.

Book overview

A deadly typhoon, a mysterious creature and a girl who won't quit.

In 2020, a large creature rampages through Tokyo, destroying everything in its path. In 1959, Asa Asada, a spunky young girl from a huge family in Nagoya, is kidnapped for ransom--and not a soul notices. When a typhoon hits Nagoya, Asa and her kidnapper must work together to survive. But there's more to her kidnapper and this storm than meets the eye.

After stealing Yone's film, Asa comes face-to-face with River Etheridge, the man who wrote the song that she's been singing since childhood. Meanwhile, Jissoji's operatives aren't pleased with Asa's disappearance. Kasuga heads to Shibuya to search for her, but "that thing" could strike at any moment!
