A memoir of addiction and destructive behavior

Presented as an intimate journal and memoir, *Annie* recounts the author’s experiences with addiction, bulimia, destructive behavior, and early sexual activity. The supplied description frames the account as graphic and explicitly addresses the difficulty of writing about underage sexuality. Together, these elements place the book at the intersection of personal testimony and subjects often treated as taboo. The source text ends mid-sentence, so the author’s stated purpose beyond that discussion is not available here.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Adults interested in memoirs about addiction and destructive behavior.
  • Readers seeking personal accounts that address bulimia and early sexual experiences.

This is because the studied, moral and political position of our society seems to be that people under a certain age should know absolutely nothing about sex. At all cost, they must be protected from such knowledge because (it is reasoned) their ignorance will not only keep them from entering puberty and having sexual feelings, it will also presumably keep them from getting pregnant or contracting AIDs. My goal in writing this, my raison d'
