A barnyard retelling of the Nativity

On Christmas Eve, the animals in a barn recall the birth of Jesus in the manger and the roles their ancestors played in those events. The counting-story structure gives the retelling an organizing thread, while the rhymes connect the present-day barn gathering with the Nativity account. The animal perspective offers a distinct way to introduce a familiar Christmas story without shifting attention away from its central event.
