A young Mitch Rapp’s first assignment

The novel introduces Mitch Rapp before his career as an operative, beginning with the terrorist attack that kills his girlfriend and drives his pursuit of retribution. Alongside Rapp’s personal motivation, the description sets up a CIA preparing for future conflict amid partisan divisions in Washington. That pairing places the story at the intersection of espionage, political tension, and one character’s response to loss. The supplied description identifies this as Rapp’s first assignment but does not provide further details about its course.
