Humphrey takes to the water

In the fifth Humphrey adventure, a classroom project gives the students of Room 26 a chance to build boats and race them on Potter’s Pond. Humphrey enjoys watching the preparations and imagining life as a pirate, until an accidental trip puts him out on the water himself. The school setting and boat-building project frame a comic adventure that brings Humphrey’s pirate daydreams into contact with a real voyage. At 134 pages, the story combines classroom activity, friendship, and a hamster’s unexpected turn at sea.
