Assessment, Testing & Measurement

Assessment, testing, and measurement in psychology centers on the theory, design, and application of tools used to evaluate mental processes, abilities, and behaviors. This subject covers standardized test development, psychometric properties, and practical methods for interpreting results. It differs from general psychology by concentrating on quantifying psychological traits rather than exploring broad behavioral theories or therapeutic practices.

For readers seeking specific approaches, consider exploring subfields like educational testing, clinical assessments, or the statistical underpinnings of measurement theory. Clarifying your research—whether focused on instrument design, practical test use, or data interpretation—will help you find more tailored material within the assessment, testing, and measurement domain.
