A sun bear cub’s path toward the rainforest

Damai, an orphaned sun bear cub, is cared for by Wildlife Wong at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, where she learns skills such as climbing and digging and meets other sun bears. Her uncertain future raises a question about whether she can return to life in the wild. The story is followed by factual material about sun bears and their rainforest habitat, along with experiments that invite readers to explore science. The book combines an animal-centered narrative with information and activities focused on an endangered species and its home.
