Art-school hopes and a memory challenge

Diana’s wish to attend Areal High, an art-centered private school, runs up against her family’s financial limits. An unexpected opportunity then raises the prospect of a new path for the art class at Kaylen Middle School. As Diana pursues her hopes, she also has to contend with Avery Vance and her short-term memory loss. The setup brings together access to arts education, friendship, competition, and the practical complications of trying to hold on to a goal when memory is a challenge.

Book overview

When Diana learns of Areal High, an art-centered high school in her town, she immediately dreams of her and her best friend, Jane, going there next year. Sadly, Diana's family can't afford the expenses surrounding a private high school, so Diana's dreams must dwell in silence.

While Diana hides her hopes inside of herself, a sudden opportunity arises that springs hope in the entire art class of Kaylen Middle School.

Just when everything starts to flow smoothly, Avery Vance is determined to get in her way, so Diana must battle Avery, her time, and her nagging short-term memory loss.
