A brother’s legacy carried forward
A shared number links the book’s two central ideas: Troy’s place in Heaven and Andrew’s life on Earth. As Andrew continues with Number 23, the story connects brotherly love and remembrance with the familiar rituals of rolling a ball and cheering from the crowd. Its focus on carrying someone’s influence forward gives the sports imagery a personal meaning, while keeping the themes of courage, dreams, and enduring connection accessible to young readers.
