A snowy search for just-right opposites

A young bear faces a snowy day while looking for a sweater, a hat, and hot cocoa that feel just right. The winter setting gives the book’s exploration of opposites a concrete frame for young readers. Its publication also has a family-archive connection: Mike Berenstain reworked and illustrated a picture book his parents began decades earlier. The deluxe hardcover adds a letter from Mike, archival sketches, and family photographs, placing the story alongside material about its creation.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Children exploring the concept of opposites through a winter-themed picture book
  • Berenstain Bears fans interested in a family-archive edition
