Humphrey takes school spirit to camp

When the school year ends, classroom hamster Humphrey and Og the frog head to Camp Happy Hollow with Mrs. Brisbane, Ms. Mac, and children from Room 26. The summer setting brings a change from the classroom routine, with new experiences, unfamiliar sounds and smells, and the mystery of the Howler. Humphrey’s curiosity meets some understandable uncertainty as he wonders whether camp might be wilder than he can handle. As the sixth entry in Betty G. Birney’s Humphrey series, the book carries its school-and-education setting into a summer adventure.

When Humphrey hears that school is ending, he can't believe his ears. What's a classroom hamster to do if there's no more school?

It turns out that Mrs. Brisbane has planned something thrilling for Humphrey and Og the frog: they're going to Camp Happy Hollow with Ms. Mac and lots of the kids from Room 26! Camp is full of FUN-FUN-FUN new experiences, but it's also a little scary. There are fur-raising wild sounds and smells, and there's something called the Howler to watch out for.
