An ambitious trade, tested loyalties, and a new friendship

Caleb and Bobby Gene’s adventures take a new direction when Styx Malone, their sixteen-year-old neighbor, invites them into the Great Escalator Trade: a chain of exchanges meant to turn a small possession into something they deeply want. As the trades grow, the brothers must reckon with the risks of their plan and with what Styx has kept hidden. Set in a small town, the story links sibling bonds and an emerging friendship to questions of trust, loyalty, and how far a shared ambition can carry three young people.
