A fairy-tale rescue with Jane in charge

Jane’s plan to seek independence by proposing to Prince Peter is upended when a mermaid kidnaps him. The story sends Jane underwater on a rescue mission, reshaping familiar fairy-tale roles around a heroine who has been judged for her appearance and pushed out of her home. Presented as a fantasy graphic novel, it combines a mermaid-led predicament with Jane’s effort to make her own way. The setup places questions of independence and appearance alongside a playful reversal of conventional fairy-tale expectations.
