Schumann’s piano-and-orchestra works in score

This Dover score gathers Schumann’s completed Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54, alongside two further works for piano and orchestra. The concerto is placed in its historical context through its 1846 premiere, with Clara Schumann as soloist, and its dedication to conductor Ferdinand Hiller. As a collection, it centers Schumann’s contribution to the Romantic concerto repertory and preserves works written for the interplay of solo piano and orchestral forces. The supplied description is truncated before naming the additional selections, so this edition is best understood as a three-work compilation rather than a fully detailed contents listing.

The Concerto in A Minor was the only piano concerto that Schumann completed in his tragically brief life. This volume features two additional works by the composer for piano and orchestra: Konzertst
