Answers
1) a. pH
pH is a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions.

2) b. Aldosterone
Angiotensin II stimulates the release of aldosterone. These hormones are part of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), a system that regulates blood pressure, fluid balance, and electrolyte balance.

3) b. Mycoplasma pnuemoniae
Cold agglutinin disease occurs as an acute or chronic condition. The acute form of cold agglutinin disease is often secondary to Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

4) a. Anisocytosis
Anisocytosis is the term for red blood cells that are unequal in size.

5) a. C1q
The complement component that forms the recognition unit of the classical complement pathway is C1q. C1q recognizes and binds to antigen-antibody complexes, activating the classical complement pathway.

6) c. Lewis
Hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) is a condition where a pregnant woman's antibodies destroy her baby's red blood cells, causing the baby to develop anemia. Many antibodies can cause HDFN, including those from the ABO, RhD, and Duffy blood group systems. Lewis system antibodies, on the other hand, are common in pregnant women and do not cause HDFN.
