A lamp’s place in a family’s home
Lucy, a lamp who worries that her size makes her less valuable, anchors a picture-book introduction to furniture insecurity. The story connects her hope of joining a family with the work of nonprofit furniture banks, including Beds for Kids, which help furnish homes for neighbors who lack essential household items. Its focus brings a community need into view through a familiar object and a concrete form of volunteering and support.
