A search across the fields
Sharon Conway’s account centers on a missing baby calf and the search to locate it. The narrator begins with little information about the calf or whether it can be found, then describes looking through farm fields and neighboring fields in an effort to save it. The farm setting and animal-rescue premise give the book a clear focus on finding a vulnerable calf, with the search itself forming the main thread.
Based on publisher information and book metadata.
I knew nothing about the baby calf when it was first sighted. I did not know if or when I would find the calf. I only knew that in order to save it I would have to search the farm fields and all the other neighboring field until it was found.
