A new partnership under siege

In this sixth volume, the conflict between the crystalline inhabitants of a far-future Earth and the Lunarians narrows to a perilous test for Phosphophyllite and Ghost Quartz. With Phos immobilized and the pair facing an attack without immediate backup, the installment places their newly formed partnership alongside the series’ ongoing struggle for survival. The setup keeps the focus on the cost of a war that threatens the group’s members one by one.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • For manga readers interested in science-fiction worlds and nonhuman protagonists.
  • For readers following the Land of the Lustrous series and its continuing conflict with the Lunarians.

Book overview

An elegant new action manga for fans of Sailor Moon and the litany of comics and animation that it inspired, Land of the Lustrous is set in a far future Earth, where humanity's distant descendants live on in a small group of sexless crystalline beings who must fight off an invasion from the Moon.

GIVE UP THE GHOST

Phosphophyllite has been immobilized in battle, with no one but Ghost Quartz around for backup. Both must last through the Lunarians' relentless attack until help arrives, but it's a tall task for this newly-minted pair. Will Phos's partner be just another casualty in the ongoing war?
