Art and life approached through instructions and drawings

Yoko Ono’s *Grapefruit* brings together instructions for art and for life, paired with drawings. Its premise places the reader in contact with creative prompts rather than presenting a conventional narrative, making the book a collection to encounter through its individual pieces. The publisher description also frames the instructions as reaching beyond art into everyday experience; the title’s emphasis on both instructions and drawings signals that the visual element is part of the work’s form.
