A season-by-season map of two decades of Broadway musicals
Amy S. Osatinski assembles a reference-minded survey of the 269 musicals that opened on Broadway between the 2000–2001 and 2019–2020 seasons. Organized around twenty theatrical seasons, the book moves beyond a simple list by cataloguing, categorizing, and analyzing the productions in that period. Its scope makes it a focused record of how Broadway musical offerings accumulated across the opening decades of the twenty-first century, with attention directed to the full field of shows rather than a single production or creator.
Good fit for readers who enjoy
- Broadway and musical-theatre enthusiasts
- Students of theatre and performing arts
